About the assessment

About the Flow Traders mental maths assessment

The Flow Traders mental-maths practice on EverythingQuant is split into three numerical sections: real-number arithmetic, decimal arithmetic and fractional arithmetic. The full mode combines those demands so you have to maintain speed while switching between different numerical representations.

The important preparation skill is controlled speed. A candidate who is fast on integers but hesitates on fractions or decimals will lose rhythm when the format changes. Use the section-specific modes to remove those bottlenecks, then return to the complete mode to practise transitions and the scoring pressure described in the tool instructions.

Sections 3
Section 1 Real numbers
Section 2 Decimals
Section 3 Fractions

EverythingQuant is an independent preparation platform. This practice tool is not an official Flow Traders assessment and does not guarantee an interview outcome.

What you are training

Skills this practice is designed to build

Fast arithmetic

Complete routine calculations quickly enough that the timer, not the arithmetic, becomes the main constraint.

Decimals

Handle decimal placement and magnitude confidently without unnecessary written working.

Fractions

Simplify and compare fractional quantities without losing pace when the representation changes.

Scoring discipline

Practise under the section rules so answer/skip decisions reflect the scoring environment rather than raw question count.

How to prepare

Use the tool deliberately

  1. 1

    Benchmark each section

Use the three targeted modes to identify whether real numbers, decimals or fractions are limiting your score.

  2. 2

    Drill the weakest representation

Spend focused practice on the section with the highest hesitation or error rate.

  3. 3

    Learn the scoring rules

Do not treat every guess, blank and correct answer as equivalent; practise the decision policy the test requires.

  4. 4

    Return to full mode

Use complete attempts to train transitions between numerical formats without losing rhythm.

FAQ

Flow Traders Mental Maths questions

What does the Flow Traders mental maths practice cover?

The EverythingQuant tool separates practice into real-number, decimal and fractional arithmetic, with a full mode that combines the sections.

How should I use the section-specific modes?

Use them diagnostically. If one representation consistently causes slower answers or more mistakes, train it separately before returning to full attempts.

Why does the scoring system matter?

When correct, blank and incorrect responses have different consequences, good performance depends on answer/skip decisions as well as calculation speed.

Is this an official Flow Traders assessment?

No. EverythingQuant is an independent preparation platform and is not affiliated with Flow Traders.
