The EverythingQuant Community Forum
Welcome to the EverythingQuant Forum, a helpful and thoughtful community dedicated to discussing everything associated with quantitative finance — from industry news and interview preparation, to career advice and casual conversation. At EverythingQuant, we aim to cultivate a respectful and intellectually stimulating environment, where users can engage in valuable exchanges of ideas, research, interviews, and exclusive insights. As such, we kindly ask for you to adhere to our community rules:
1. Be Respectful and Courteous
One of our biggest priorities is ensuring respect and kindness within our community. Therefore, we ask you to speak to others with dignity and in good nature. Discrimination, hate speech, and personal attacks are strictly prohibited. While everyone has a right to express their opinion, please do so in a way that is civil and sparks constructive debate. We have an obligation to uphold freedom of expression, however unecessary toxicity will not be tolerated.
2. Inclusive and Non-Discriminatory Language
Ensure that your language is inclusive and respectful of all users. Avoid posting, commenting, or promoting content that is discriminatory or offensive based on race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. Our community strongly values diversity in thought, experience, and ideas (as do quant firms!), so let's keep it a welcoming space for everyone.
3. Post Quantitative Finance Related Content
Our community is maintained specific to quantitative finance. Please stay relevant to this topic. We will allow posts associated with computer science, technology, mathematics, STEM, or other industries similar/relevant to quantitative finance, however off-topic posts should be avoided.
4. No Offensive or Harmful Content
Content that promotes hate speech, explicit language, or harmful behavior (e.g., harassment, bullying) will not be tolerated. Any content that violates this rule will be removed, and the user may face suspension or a ban, depending on the severity and the number of posts.
5. No Spam or Self-Promotion
Refrain from spamming our forum with comments and posts. Likewise, do not spam our forum with unsolicited promotions or advertising. Self-promotion (such as promoting your own platform, tool, or product) is only permitted if you contact us and receive our permission. If you are interested in promoting your product on our forum, please contact us here.
6. Respect the Privacy and Confidentiality of Others
Do not share sensitive, private, or confidential information. This includes personal details about yourself or other users, as well as proprietary information from companies or institutions. If discussing specific research, trading strategies, or models, ensure that it's public information or that you have permission to share it.
7. Responsible Voting
Use the upvote/downvote system to help highlight valuable content or provide constructive feedback. Do not use voting as a way to silence opinions or suppress content you disagree with, unless it violates the rules. Also, do not make multiple accounts and influence voting disproportionate to each user (mafia style).
8. Follow the Law
Do not post any content that infringes on intellectual property rights (e.g., copyrighted material without permission), engages in illegal activity, or promotes unlawful behavior. Be mindful of financial regulations, and do not share strategies or tools that might violate trading laws.
9. Post your Successes and Have Fun!
At EverythingQuant, we are dedicated to supporting your success and ensuring that your transition from student to quant is as smooth and rewarding as possible. We believe that sharing your achievements with our community not only serves as a source of inspiration for others but also encourages growth, personal development, collaboration, and celebration. Helping motivate and inspire fellow learners, and contributing to a positive and uplifting environment ensures everyone gets the best out of the community. Together, we can build a supportive ecosystem that propels everyone towards excellence!
By participating in the EverythingQuant Forum, you agree to follow these guidelines and contribute to a respectful, engaging, and intellectually enriching environment.
