Quant hours are definitely better than IB. But if you are a trader you make up for it in stress. I think IB starts lower but you have a longer career than in quant, so you make more in the long run. Quant is one of those industries where you can retire at 35 with a ferrari. But IB is more like you retire at 60 with a bugatti. Quant industry is more relaxed, in terms of attire. IB is still suits but you can wear anything casual in quant.
